Joseph Bartholdi: A Wanderer Turned World Poker Tour Made Millionaire

Born and raised in Southern California, World Poker Tour made millionaire Joseph Bartholdi found himself living a dream life in Las Vegas, Nevada, and a career as a professional poker player. Thanks to his father, who served as a poker dealer in one of the most prestigious casinos in Nevada, Bartholdi learned the tricks of the trade quite easily and at a very young age.

Life has never been always poker for Bartholdi, who really got into the game only at the age of 18. By 21 years old, he became a professional casino player, trying to build a career in gaming by building his very own bankroll from scratch. However, things never seem to go with what he was planning, as he completely lost his entire bankroll playing blackjack. Because of this unfortunate event, he went back working as a card dealer, in an honest quest to rebuild something that has been lost.

Before trying out the various exciting and lucrative events at the World Poker Tour, Bartholdi was very active playing at the World Series of Poker. By 2004, he has once again regained sufficient money for his bankroll, while at the same time made friends with fellow professional casino player Joe Cassidy. This move proved too influential and beneficial for Bartholdi, who almost lost his bankroll once again but found himself staked by Cassidy.

With the financial support and backup provided by Cassidy, Bartholdi started to deliver some of the most impressive finishes he has ever achieved in his entire career as a professional poker player. Between 2004 and 2005, he accomplished a total of four impressive money finishes in the various events of the World Series of Poker. In season four of the World Poker Tour, Bartholdi seemed to reach what he was dreaming for throughout his entire life. In one of his greatest and most consistent performances ever, he reached the final table of the WPT Championship. From that major victory alone, he was able to rack up a grand $3,700,000.

The career earnings of Bartholdi at the World Poker Tour have already reached $3,760,165, which is good for sixth-best overall amongst the active professional poker players of the tour. Simultaneously, his WPT winning percentage that stands at 5.88 percent is good for 37th overall. Furthermore, he has reached a final table event once, which he won in classic fashion. Additionally, he has achieved a single money finish in his very short stint at the World Poker Tour.
