The Mixed Bets Post Flop Poker Strategy

Poker is essentially a betting strategy card game. We try to prepare the best hand possible to back up our bets with. But it doesn't end there. We also have to follow this up with a strong pre-flop move and post flop poker strategy. This completes a strong strategy for what may come at the turn and river.

A good pre-flop bet strategy prepares our starting hand for an action-packed post flop betting campaign. After the flop shows the community cards, we have to follow up on our betting strategy post flop. And here, we must pay particular attention to our post flop poker strategy. We must make sure that our betting tactic is a good one. Post flop play is quite decisive.

But more importantly, we should consider the overall poker game sessions. When we look at the big picture, we would see that our post flop poker strategy should be varied especially where betting is concerned. The least we want here is to be predictable. When we become predictable with our betting pattern at post flop, it would spell disaster. The remedy is to mix bet amounts post flop.

For instance, we have 9-8 off-suit and we bet 50 chips and some other player raises us with 200. The raiser probably has a monster hand. So we fold with our middle pair. Then, several games later, we hold pocket deuces, we're second to act, and the post flop shows 5AQ. The first opponent checks. We know no one raised pre-flop. We bet to secure the flop, especially the ace - -but not bet 50 again.

This is an example of mixing our bet amounts to avoid being predictable. The player to our left might think we have the ace and might fold with a Q. But then the player may remember that we had previously bet 50 as a post flop poker strategy. He might think of calling our bet instead, thinking we're just bluffing. So, we bet 150 this time to change the player's mind and fold.

Mixing our betting pattern is a good post flop poker strategy. This keeps us from being predictable and makes our opponents guessing each post flop betting. As long as we keep opponents guessing inaccurately, we have a strong post flop poker strategy.
